Four lines, from the simplest to the most committing

From putting your accounts in order to committing capital, across the eight WAEMU countries. Each line stands on its own: nothing obliges you to move to the next.

Make it legible

Your company becomes a file that can be reviewed

Books kept, governance written down, a plan costed and defensible line by line. It is often the only thing that stood between a good file and a yes.

We verify on site and put our signature behind it

Site visit, accounts attested by an external chartered accountant, a reasoned opinion and named reservations. You leave with a document that holds up in front of a banker or an investor.

Match and structure

The deal is built, negotiated and closed

Choice of instrument, introductions to investors whose thesis fits, negotiation, closing. We are paid mainly on results.

Question 1 of 3

Is your company registered (trade register, tax ID)?

What we know how to assess

We don’t cover everything. We cover the value chains where we can read a trading account, check a stock and talk to the equipment supplier.

  • Agri-food processing

The region exports raw and imports processed. Drying, milling, packaging: whatever reverses that flow has a market before it has a customer.

  • Mechanisation & equipment

The machinery that takes a farm or a workshop up a level. This is where leasing and sale-and-leaseback change everything.

  • Materials & construction

Bricks, aggregates, prefabrication. Demand exists; the bottleneck is equipment and working capital on public contracts.

  • Logistics & cold chain

Corridors, the last mile, refrigeration: the invisible infrastructure everything else depends on for its value.

  • Import substitution

Making here what the zone buys elsewhere. It is the flip side of what we decline: we do not finance import trading, we finance what replaces it.

  • Energy for productive use

Workshop solar, pumping, irrigation: energy that generates revenue rather than comfort. It often repays itself out of the savings it creates.

  • Packaging

A local product badly packaged sells at bulk price. It is often the smallest investment that changes the selling price.

  • Software for real value chains

The software and data that equip a real business: traceability, stock management, payments. We finance the tool, not the promise.

  • Private health & education

Clinics, laboratories, technical schools: recurring revenue, heavy equipment needs, and accounts nobody has yet put in order.

  • Textiles & garments

Cotton leaves raw and comes back as a shirt. Spinning, dyeing, making up: every step kept here is value that does not leave.

Our conviction

A company is not financed because it is good. It is financed because it can be read. Our entire business sits in that gap: measuring it, closing it, then attesting to it.

SPARKS PROJECT — founding manifesto

What is open

Files open right now

Each one has been reviewed on site. The level of verification is written on the card: it is how far we went, and we stand behind it.

No file is open at the moment. Create your investor account and you will be told at the next opening.

Create my investor account

After the investment

A poorly monitored investment does not fail all at once. It drifts.

Month after month, with no one seeing it. We keep the company’s books, reconcile its figures against what we observe on site, and write to you — whether you are in Dakar or five thousand kilometres away.

Essential

75,000FCFA / month

Books kept, monthly financial statement, immediate alert as soon as a deviation appears.

Enhanced

150,000FCFA / month

Plus a documented site visit every quarter, with a management review.

Participation

250,000FCFA / month

Plus an observer seat, and consolidated reporting if you hold several positions.

Have my investment monitored

No funds ever pass through the firm. Billed to the investor, unless split by agreement with the company.

How we work

The course of a mandate, from first conversation to closing — with no grey areas. Each stage stands on its own: we stop wherever you choose.

First conversation

Straight questions, straight answers

The questions we actually get asked — and the ones people don’t always dare to ask.

Does SPARKS PROJECT invest directly in projects?

Not today: our revenue comes from advisory mandates, which guarantees our independence of judgement. When we occasionally co-invest in a file, it is stated explicitly, both on the portfolio entry and to the investors concerned. Our fourth line is post-investment monitoring: we keep the books, we go on site, and we report to the investor. We manage no capital on behalf of third parties, and we will not before we hold the status for it.

How much does support cost?

The first step is free: the Financeability Index, online, in three minutes. After that, our prices are published — the large majority of our offers show their amount or range on their own page. The financeability assessment is a 400,000 FCFA fixed fee. Only success-based mandates — the financing mandate and the introduction — are priced as a percentage of the deal: their amount depends on the deal itself, and we only earn if it happens.

My company isn’t formalised yet. Can you still help?

Yes — it is in fact the most common situation, and no ground for refusal. Formalisation is the first step of our structuring support. Start with the Index: it will tell you precisely where you stand and what to fix first.

What kinds of projects do you turn down?

We decline more files than we present, and we say which: the Services page carries a section titled “What we do not support”, with five cases and their reasons. In short: import trading without local processing, residential real estate, projects whose activity cannot be observed on site, and any attestation covering a file we produced ourselves. Our selectivity is exactly what investors buy.

How is the confidentiality of my file protected?

Your submission is readable by our team only and never passed to a third party without your written consent. Sensitive documents do not travel through the public form. On the investor side, access to reserved resources is authenticated, authorised account by account, and logged.

I live abroad. How do I invest back home without being cheated?

That is what post-investment monitoring is for: we keep the company’s books, reconcile its figures against what we observe on site, and write to you every month — time-stamped and geolocated photographs included. Your funds never pass through us — we are your eyes on the ground, not your banker.

How long does it take to raise?

For a file already in order: four to nine months between the start of the mandate and closing. If the company must first be brought up to standard, add the timelines of our first line — three to six weeks per engagement, run in parallel where possible. Anyone promising faster is setting you up for disappointment.

What do you earn if my project fails to raise?

On a fundraising mandate, part of our fee is tied to success: if you don’t raise, we don’t collect it. That is also why we are selective at the door — we don’t commit our time, or your money, to a file we don’t believe in.

What is the Economic Passport?

It is our attestation offer: identity verified at the registry, accounts attested by an external chartered accountancy firm, activity observed on site, a score out of one hundred and a reasoned opinion with its reservations named. The company commissions it; the banker or the investor is the recipient. We never passport a company whose accounts or file we produced ourselves — one does not attest one’s own work.

Are all your services available immediately?

First-line mandates start within a fortnight. Attestation work and capital transactions require prior set-up — agreements with the chartered accountancy firm, regulatory scope, the timetable of the deal itself — and we give you the real lead time at the first conversation. We would rather quote a date we will meet than one that suits us.

Where to start?

Every engagement starts with a short commitment and no obligation to continue. It is the best way to judge us on results.
